This is the 11th matchup between the clubs; Legion has a 4–5-2 record against LouCity. The last time these clubs met was on August 19th when Legion FC rallied for a 2-0 win at Protective Stadium. Former Legionnaire Neco Brett scored a penalty and Enzo Martinez scored the game winner.

Louisville City FC opened the 2024 season defeating El Paso Locomotive on the road and most recently took down the 2023 Players’ Shield Winners, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC 3-1 at its home opener. Wilson Harris, Sean Totsch and Ray Serrano got on the score sheet.
Wilson Harris, at 24 years old, became the youngest player in the USL Championship history to get 50 league goals.
