CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Friday, October 1) – The Charlotte Independence Professional Team and Youth Club announced today their 2021 “Kick the Cold” Coat Drive in partnership with Summit Coffee Co. As part of the philanthropic initiative, Winter coats will be collected and donated to three local organizations: Communities in Schools, Heal Charlotte and Crisis Assistance Ministry.
“With all that our city, state and country have been through in the last 18 months, there are so many people in need,” stated Charlotte Independence President & COO, Tim Schuldt. “The Charlotte Independence is committed to the greater Charlotte region and we look forward to mobilizing with our fans, our youth academy and Summit Coffee Company to make a positive impact as temperatures drop this fall. We encourage everyone to donate a coat or jacket over the next 45 days so we can make a huge impact for good!"
The Charlotte Independence will collect coats at their remaining home games on Saturday, October 9, Saturday, October 16 and Wednesday, October 27. Any fan who donates a coat at American Legion Memorial Stadium upon arrival will receive free entry to the match.
The Charlotte Independence Soccer Club (CISC) will begin collections on Monday, October 12 at three practice facilities across the greater Charlotte area: Richard Barry Park (Huntersville), Manchester Meadows (Rock Hill) and Mazeppa Park (Mooresville). Collections for the CISC will end on Monday, November 22.
