Ticket booths and Will Call will open at 5:30 PM.
Gates into the stadium will open at 6:00 PM.
The main ticket box offices and gates to the stadium are located at the East End on Charlottetowne Avenue.

Will Call and a Spanish speaking representative will be located at the Southeast Ticket Box Office on Charlottetowne Avenue.

PARKING & TAILGATING:

Parking lots and ramps will open at 5:00 PM. Please park in the designated parking ramps as shown in the map below.

Please do not park in local businesses lots or CPCC lots as you may be towed.

Parking is $5 CASH ONLY.

A tailgating lot is available with a limited number of spots. These spots are $15 CASH ONLY per game. If you choose to tailgate before the game please abide by all the county regulations available on our website: https://sportsengine-staging.go-vip.net/charlotteindependence/tailgating-policies.

FIELD LEVEL VIP SEATING & HOSPITALITY:

Field Level VIP Seating will open at 6:00 PM.

All Field Level VIP guests must have a valid event ticket to enter the stadium.

Upon arrival, please proceed to the East Gate and walk into the Northeast corner of the stadium where you will find a staircase and an elevator. At this location (red circle), you will check-in and receive your Field Level VIP Pass and a wristband if you choose to purchase alcohol and are of legal age to do so. This will be required for entry and re-entry if you go back up to the concourse during the game.

Food will be served on the field level in the Northeast corner (orange square) near the video scoreboard. Please refer to the map below for further insight.

We ask that all Field Level VIP guests refrain from any aggressive or insulting behavior towards players, game officials and other guests. Any of this type of behavior will result in removal from the match.

Charlotte Independence Fall Short in Pittsburgh

#33 Brandon Miller with 8 saves on the night.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 3, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence fell to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds by just one goal tonight at Highmark Stadium. The Jacks will return home for their Grand Re-Opening Match at American Legion Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 7 vs. New York Red Bulls II. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The Charlotte Independence defense was tested early after a number of high pressure attacks by the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Their biggest stop came in the 39th minute. It was a scramble in the box which led to a save on the line by the Jacks defense. The rebound was struck by Pittsburgh’s #11 Kenardo Forbes, and Independence Goalkeeper #33 Brandon Miller came up with a huge save to keep everything level at 0-0.

The Riverhounds connected again in the third minute of stoppage time after a flick from #9 Albert Dikwa landed at the feet of #15 Anthony Velarde. He took the shot first-time and placed it in the bottom left corner of the net. The Charlotte Independence trailed at halftime, 0-1.

Miller came up with another big save early in the second half that came off a free kick from Riverhounds #7 Alexander Dixon.

When asked about his mentality in goal tonight, Miller’s focus was solely to “Do what I can to keep the team in the game.”

The Jacks finally started to gain momentum in the 66th minute when #2 Kevin Riascos got on the end of a corner kick. His header missed high and wide.

#9 Irvin Parra had the best chance of the night for the Independence after he got on the receiving end of a long ball in behind the Pittsburgh defense. He opted for a chip over Goalkeeper #1 Danny Vitiello, but the defense filled in behind, and cleared the ball out of play.

Ultimately, the Jacks couldn’t convert and the final score remained, CLT 0 – PIT 1.

“I think we were very poor the first half and never found the rhythm at all in the game,” stated Charlotte Independence Head Coach, Mike Jeffries. “I thought we battled hard in the second half and fought and created a little bit and were able to push the game, but it was definitely uphill for us trying to chase at the end. It’s a tough road venue and concludes a long stretch of a fair amount of travel for us. It’s a disappointing way to finish that out, getting shut out and not really playing at the level we’d like to.”

The teams’ focus moving forward: “First we have to take physical stock of the group and it’s going to be a lot of recovery. It’s been a busy stretch with a lot of games, so for us just kind of managing the physical side will be the first priority,” stated Jeffries. “Then, preparing for New York. New York’s a different kind of team than what we just played so we have to make the adjustments in how we want to play and what we want to do to manage them. Everybody has earmarked the date on their calendars, so the guys are very much looking forward to it and we’ll be ready to show up.”

Charlotte Independence Sign 5 Year Partnership Deal with Pepsi Bottling Ventures

The agreement extends to the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club and the new American Legion Memorial Stadium.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 30, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence announced today a strategic partnership with Pepsi Bottling Ventures, the largest privately-held bottler for Pepsi-Cola products in North America. Pepsi Bottling Ventures will be the exclusive, non-alcoholic beverage partner for the Charlotte Independence for the next five years providing products such as carbonated soft drinks, water, sports drinks, energy drinks, protein drinks and juice-based drinks.

Charlotte Independence Sign French Midfielder, Sylvain Marveaux

Marveaux joins the Jacks after five years with FC Lorient.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 29, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence announced today that they will be adding to their midfield arsenal with the signing of French midfielder, Sylvain Marveaux. He comes to the Jacks after five years with FC Lorient, a League One team in the top flight of French fútbol.

“Coming directly from League One France, Sylvain will add a great deal of quality and experience to our side,” stated Charlotte Independence Head Coach, Mike Jeffries. “His creativity and ability on the ball will enhance our attack. As a midfielder, he can connect the game well, find incisive passes to teammates, and is another capable finisher.”

Marveaux is a former French under-21 international having earned caps with the team from 2006 to 2008.

In 2011, Marveaux signed a five-year deal with Premier League club, Newcastle United. He made his first competitive start in a win at Scunthorpe United playing the full 120 minutes that included extra time. Marveaux scored his first goal for Newcastle in a 1–1 UEFA Europa League draw with C.S. Marítimo. He scored his first ever Premier League goal in the Magpies' fixture at Emirates Stadium against Arsenal.

Marveaux joined Guingamp, a Breton Association Football Club, in 2014 where he competed for one season before signing with FC Lorient in 2016. Throughout the course of his professional career, Marveaux has made 224 appearances and scored 43 goals.

“I’m very happy to sign with the Independence,” said Marveaux. “I feel like it is a good place for me to continue my career. I’m looking forward to joining the team and starting practice. Hopefully I can get to know my new teammates quickly and help them win.”

The Jacks make their first home appearance at the new American Legion Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM (ET).

Marveaux is a former French under-21 international having earned caps with the team from 2006 to 2008.

In 2011, Marveaux signed a five-year deal with Premier League club, Newcastle United. He made his first competitive start in a win at Scunthorpe United playing the full 120 minutes that included extra time. Marveaux scored his first goal for Newcastle in a 1–1 UEFA Europa League draw with C.S. MariÌtimo. He scored his first ever Premier League goal in the Magpies’ fixture at Emirates Stadium against Arsenal.

Charlotte Independence Players to Inspire Younger Generations Through New Adopt A Kids Group Program

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 27, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence announced today their “Adopt A Kid’s Group” Program through which each player has the opportunity to adopt up to 40 kids for a night of soccer at the new American Legion Memorial Stadium. The initiative will serve local schools, neighborhoods and organizations facing economic hardship and those who otherwise may not be able to attend games throughout the season.

“The Adopt a Kids Group program is something the community needs,” stated Charlotte Independence defender, Hugh Roberts. “Bringing awareness to the game and being able to help those in need is impactful. I hope this spreads throughout multiple cities, and I commend the Independence for taking the lead.”

Charlotte Independence Concede 2 Goals in Loss at Miami FC

#29 Dane Kelly scored his fourth goal of the season off another cross from #35 Blake Pope.

MIAMI, FL (June 26, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence fell to Miami FC 2-1 tonight at FIU Stadium. The Jacks will take a full week to prepare for their next road match at Highmark Stadium on Saturday, July 3 when they take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM (ET). Miami applied the pressure early when a deep ball in behind the Jacks' defense forced Independence Goalkeeper #33 Brandon Miller to come out and make a play. His initial block found the feet of the Miami offense whose shot hit the arm of Miller outside the box. The free kick, struck by #98 Pierre Da Silva, hit the crossbar and bounced over the goal line. Miami took the lead in the 18th minute 1-0.

Charlotte made a run in the 32nd minute with a defensive stop by #35 Blake Pope who found #29 Dane Kelly in the box again for a shot that went through the hands of Miami Goalkeeper #24 Connor Sparrow. The score remained tied halftime, MIA 1 – CLT 1.

“It was great defensive work from Blake,” stated Forward, Dane Kelly. “He won the ball, dribbled a bit, looked up, saw me and played it to me and I finished it. He’s been playing good, and I think his confidence is getting better each game. I think he’s a player who just loves to get forward and serve the ball into the box, and I am a player who is always trying to be in the box to finish.”

Kelly continued to put pressure on the Miami defense in the 54th minute when he took on a couple of defenders and drew a foul inside the box. He stepped up to take the kick, but sent it high and wide.

In the 77th minute, Miami found space on the counter attack. It was #2 Othello Bah who played a pass inside the box to #10 Ariel Martinez. He took the shot and slotted is past Miller. Miami took the lead by two.

As play continued, the Jacks saw shots from #35 Blake Pope, #8 Marcelo Palomino, #23 Jordan Bender, #10 Valentin Sabella, and #21 Noah Paravicini but couldn’t find the back of the net. The final score: MIA 2 – CLT 1.

“Really disappointed that we didn’t get more out of the game,” stated Independence Head Coach, Mike Jeffries. “They were all over us for the first 15 to 20 minutes, we weathered that, and came back from a goal down to get level and I thought we settled into the first half pretty well. I thought we pushed the game hard in the second half and had a lot of chances. When you’re on the road and create as many chances as we did, you feel like you have to get something out of the game and we weren’t able to. We had some unfortunate mistakes that we made and at the end they punished us for one of them to get the game winner. Just a disappointing night and I thought we deserved something out of this game.”

Jacks Win 3-0 Over Battery in Final Match at Matthews

(June 23, 2021) – The Charlotte Independence defeated the Charleston Battery by a score of 3-0 in their final home match at the Sportsplex at Matthews before making their move to the new American Legion Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 7. Before grand-re-opening night, the Jacks will face Miami FC (Saturday, June 26) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (Saturday, July 3) on the road. Watch both games on ESPN+.

“First, it’s nice for us to bounce back after a game I think we all felt wasn’t a good performance on our end,” stated Independence Head Coach, Mike Jeffries. “It’s nice to come in with confidence to a new game, and an important one, because it’s against a rival and a team in our division that we're competing against for playoffs. I think coming into Miami we’re going to be taking an assessment of where guys are physically. These stretches are difficult on players for various reasons. I don’t think the guy’s confidence waivers, but I do feel like it’s always nice to go into a road trip coming off a good win."

A good win it was. Your Charlotte Independence applied the pressure early with a couple quick combinations in midfield. It was #13 Brandt Bronico who played a through ball to #35 Blake Pope. Pope served a low cross into the box finding the foot of #29 Dane Kelly. He took the strike first-time and blew it past Charleston Goalkeeper, #1 Joe Kuzminsky. USL Academy signing Blake Pope earned his first assist on the play in only his second start of the season.

“It’s amazing,” stated Pope. “Obviously the team helped along the way, made the switch run with Dane and then Brandt played me a through ball and I just took it in. I found Dane on the top of the 18 and he finished it off. It’s obviously great to get my first assist, looking for my first goal next, but uphill from here and just looking forward to the next game."

The Independence backline played a strong first half limiting the Battery’s chances to just a couple of free kicks. The Independence held on to the 1-0 lead going into halftime.

There were no substitutions made by the Jacks to start the half. Charleston Battery’s #6 Robbie Crawford got the first strike on goal in the 62nd minute, but the attempt missed wide right. As the half played on, the Jacks continued to apply the pressure in the attacking third.

In the 74th minute, #9 Irvin Parra took a strike that hit the arm of a Battery defender resulting in a penalty kick for the Jacks. #8 Marcelo Palomino stepped up to take the kick and, with authority, struck an upper 90 shot past Kuzminsky.

Four minutes of extra time proved to be just enough for #10 Valentin Sabella to step on the pitch and make his mark. In the 94th minute, Kelly played a nice, easy ball across the top of the box where Sabella was there, waiting to strike. His left-footed shot stunned the Battery goalkeeper and put the Independence up 3 goals to none for the win. The Jacks earned their fourth clean sheet on the night as they looked back on what was quite a momentous journey at the Sportsplex.

“It’s a little nostalgic for me, we’ve been here a long time,” stated Jeffries. “I enjoy the facility and we’ve had some really good moments that stand out here. I think there’s a lot that’s hard to leave. I think Memorial stadium has been the focal point of our organization really since day one, and I’m looking forward to it like everyone. We feel it’s going to be a great venue for us and hope to continue with the same quality of play. It’s a move that we’ve been waiting on for quite a while.”
