Le Rouge Legacy Numbers

Over the first fourteen years of this great club, many players have worn the crest of Detroit City FC, all of whom are intertwined into the story of our city and our club.

Introducing Le Rouge Legacy Numbers:
Each player to ever appear for the Detroit City FC Men’s First Team in a competitive fixture has been assigned their own unique number, marking their place in time in the history of Detroit City Football Club.

Numbers 1-11 were assigned alphabetically to the players who made up the first competitive Detroit City FC Starting XI, which played against AFC Cleveland on May 12, 2012, at Cass Tech High School in Detroit, Michigan.

The latest Le Rouge Legacy Number, 227, belongs to goalkeeper Carlos Herrera, who debuted on the road to Louisville City FC in the USL Championship on March 29, 2025.

During the research project, each Le Rouge Legacy Number was put through a specific criterion to ensure each player has been attributed the correct Le Rouge Legacy Number, which includes:

Players appearing in the Starting XI for the first time are listed alphabetically

Players coming on as substitutes in the same game are listed in order of the minute they enter the match

Players coming on as substitutes at the same time are listed in the order they enter the pitch

The club plans to launch Le Rouge Legacy Numbers for the Women’s First Team in the build-up to the 2025 USL W League Season.
