
EL PASO – August 10, 2019 – El Paso Locomotive FC fell to Phoenix 2-1 in a physical contest that left El Paso playing with ten men after a red card in the 45th minute. Phoenix sits atop the table and have won their last 13 straight matches.
Phoenix struck first in the 21st minute but El Paso came right back a minute later to bring things level. Edson Partida notched his third goal of the season after Sebastian Contreras came up with an interception at the top of the Phoenix box. Contreras laid it off to Andrew Fox who set up Partida. When the ball came to Partida, he sent it booming into the upper left corner of the Phoenix net.
The night would end 2-1 in favor of the home team after Phoenix converted a penalty in the 73rd minute.
