What would soccer be without its fan? The ones who show up rain or shine, the ones who are the first to arrive and the last to leave, the ones who are the loudest in the stadium … we call these fans supporters, welcome to the 8th Notch.
The 8th Notch formed before EL Paso Locomotive FC kicked off their inaugural USL Championship season and have been supporting the club from day one. A name really is everything, and the 8th Notch is on track to have the most original in the league.
The 8th Notch refers to the last position of the throttle on a train; it is the highest gear and means you are at full-throttle, expending massive amounts of energy and torque. A fitting name for a rowdy bunch whose high-energy and chants carry the team and the crowd through the match.
“That’s what a supporter group is. You’re the one that causes the stadium to get to the level that it needs to be to help the boys, you know, pull through,” said Chad Middleton of the 8th Notch. Soccer is a universal sport, and the 8th Notch welcome all to stand and cheer with them today and into the future! You can spot them in section 105 and marching into the stadium on gameday, with drums and flags in tow.
