ORU competes in NCAA Division I in the Summit League, and last season advanced to the Summit League Tournament semifinals. The team had five players named to all West-Region teams from its 2019 squad.
Calling All Fans
This midweek match will be taking place at Holland Hall at 7 PM and for this one, FC Tulsa is inviting all fans out to come out and watch the match. Attendance is free for everyone and will provide a great chance to watch the squad in action before our home opener on March 14th.
First Double Matchweek
Getting competitive minutes is a crucial part of preseason training, and a double matchweek is a perfect test with just under three more weeks before the first game of the season. After Wednesday’s game against ORU, Tulsa heads to Claremore, Okla. to take on Rogers State University on Saturday.
The team closes out its preseason fixture schedule next week with another double matchweek, away to North Texas SC on Tuesday, Feb. 25 and back at Titan to host Sporting Kansas City II on Saturday, Feb. 29.
Super Dario Strikes Again
Darío Suárez has been in hot form in the first two games netting a goal in each. But the Cuban forward isn’t focused on himself but what it means for the team, “I don’t pay as much attention to my goals. I prefer to play for the team,” said Suárez, “I have one goal with this team: to win every single game. We are trying to change the mentality of the players to focus on winning every time. Hopefully, I have more goals coming so I can help the team to win.”
