Name Your Club Process

Along with the public, Madison Pro Soccer has started the process to adopt a name, colors and crest.  Hundreds of submissions have already been made. Through June 19, we are continuing to seek more submissions with the support of our friends at The Isthmus. And with your help, we are now going to begin identifying which finalists will ultimately be considered.

Using the World Cup format we will choose 32 names and ultimately narrow down all the submissions to a name, colors and crest that will represent Madison’s first professional soccer club. Here is the scheduled process*:

GROUP PLAY:

• 32 “group play” name submissions will be selected by Madison Pro Soccer for vetting (in eight groups of four) by the public.

• Every Wednesday from May 30 to June 20 two new groups of four will be posted for a week of public voting.

• One name from each of the eight groups will advance to the knockout rounds.

KNOCKOUT ROUNDS:

• Color and crest polling will be added during the knockout rounds.

• Voting on four quarterfinal name matchups begins Wednesday, June 27 and continues for one week.

• Voting on two semi-final name matchups begins Wednesday, July 4. The two finalists will be announced Sunday, July 15 at halftime of the World Cup Final at a Madison Pro Soccer watch party. The watch party location will be announced at a later date.

• Voting on the Final name will start after the World Cup Final.

• Madison Pro Soccer’s name, color and crest will be unveiled at a public ceremony in late July/early August.
