Forward Madison travels to Nebraska for the second time this season to face off against Union Omaha in the team’s final road match of the season. The match is on Wednesday, October 20 and kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Warner Park. Forward Madison most recently played an away game against Richmond Kickers, where they came away with zero points after a 2-3 loss.

The Flamingos look to continue their offensive success in this one, having scored multiple games for the first time in a game since August in their previous match. Forward Madison will face a tough test however as they take on a Union Omaha team that currently finds itself at first place in the USL League 1 table with the best goal differential. FMFC is 1-1-1 against the Union Omaha this year, with their last match taking place in Omaha in July, where the teams drew 1-1. 

Forward Madison FC currently sits with a record of 6-8-11, positioning them in tenth place in the league standings. FMFC has 3 games left in the season, making these last few matches incredibly important for a team still looking to clinch a playoff spot. The ‘Mingos currently are 5 points out of a playoff position.

Following Wednesday’s match in Nebraska, Forward Madison FC will come back home for a match against FC Tucson.The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, WI.

Forward Madison returned to Richmond on Saturday night for their final match against Richmond Kickers. The match was played at City Stadium in Richmond, VA at began at 5:40pm CT. The Flamingos entered the match with 29 points, placing them in 10th place in the USL League One standings. 

 The Flamingos got the action going right away when defender Eric Leonard served up a perfect through ball to Josiah Trimmingham, who beat his defender off the turn and fired it into the roof of the net to give the Flamingos and early 1-0 lead in the 8’ minute. After an early go, the action flowed from end to end with not many chances being created for either side. That all changed in the 33’ minute when a corner kick served to the back post was headed into the back of the net by Chris Cole of Richmond. Richmond added to the damage in the 45’ minute when an unlucky bounce ended up past Phil Breno and into the back of the net courtesy of Richmond striker Emiliano Terzaghi. FMFC went into the halftime break down 2-1.

 Just like in the first half, the Flamingos got the second half started with a bang. Derek Gebhard served a dangerous low driven pass into the box and dribbled it into the goal off of a Richmond defender in the 47’ minute to equalize the score at 2-2. After equalizing, Forward put the pressure on the Richmond back line, holding much of the possession in the Richmond final third. After a frantic final 10 minutes with chances for both squads, the Kickers knocked in a third goal courtesy of Emiliano Terzaghi to go ahead and stay ahead to end the match 3-2.

Forward Madison FC concludes their longest road trip of the season in Omaha on Wednesday, October 20 at 7pm CT. Omaha is the current league-leaders, this match is a make-up match for a rainout earlier in the season.

Forward Madison will head back to Richmond for a must-win weekend clash against 5th place Richmond Kickers. The match is on Saturday, October 16 and kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. CT at City Stadium. Forward Madison most recently played an away game against New England Revolution II, where they came away with zero points after a 0-1 loss.

Forward Madison enters this match in need of some offense after having three straight 0-1 results on the road. The team has looked formidable in all three matches, controlling possession and creating chances in the final third. The Flamingos will look for goal contributions from top scorer Jake Keegan and newcomer Ryan Sierakowski. FMFC is 1-1-1 against the Kickers this year, with Sierakowski scoring in a 1-0 win in Madison on September 11. 

Forward Madison FC currently sits with a record of 6-7-11, positioning them in tenth place in the league standings. FMFC has the most games left to play with 4 to go and will be fighting for a string of wins to push them into playoff position. The ‘Mingos currently are 4 points out of a playoff position.

Following Saturday’’s match in Richmond, Forward Madison FC will conclude their long road trip with a date in Omaha against the league-leaders. This match is a make-up match for a rain-out earlier this season. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT at Werner Park in Omaha, NE.

Forward Madison ventured back to New England on Tuesday night for another mid-week matchup. The match played at Gillette Stadium started at 4:06 pm CT, the Flamingos entered the match in tenth with 29 points.

The Flamingos went down early in the 9th minute when the Revolution II midfielder Justin Rennicks opened the scoring. Forward controlled most of the possession in the first half, creating several chances but with no breakthrough. The best chance of the half came from a great build-up play that ended with a ball just out of the reach of the outstretched Sierakowski. 

Moving into the second half the flamingos continued to hold the advantage in possession but lacked the chances created in the first half. A handful of subs came in off the bench for Madison, none of which were able to change the tides of the game. 

Forward Madison FC continues their long stretch of road games when they travel for a rematch against Richmond Kickers at 5:30 PM Central. New England is currently sitting in 4th in the USL League One table with the 1-0 over FMFC this past week.

Forward Madison FC vs. New England Revolution II

Forward Madison will head back to Foxborough to take on New England Revolution II this Tuesday, October 12th for an USL League One matchup. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. CT at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Forward Madison most recently played an away game against Richmond Kickers, where they came away with zero points after a 0-1 loss.

Aaron Molloy is the top in the league with his passes in midfield, holding Forward Madison’s passing percentage success rate at a steady 83%. Connor Tobin holds number one in top of the league for the most clearances, doing his part to protect the goal this season at 110 clearances.

This week’s opponent is New England Revolution II, who currently sits in fourth place in USL League One standings with a record of 10-9-4. New England will be looking for another victory to add to their three win streak. 

Following Friday’s match with New England, Forward Madison FC will return to Virginia for their second match this month against Richmond. Forward Madison FC will next take on the Richmond Kickers at 5:30 p.m. CT in Richmond on Saturday, October 16th.

Forward Madison traveled to Richmond, Virginia for a midweek date against the seventh-place Richmond Kickers. The match was played at City Stadium and started at 5:36pm CT. The Flamingos entered the match sitting in tenth position with 29 points on the season. 

Richmond’s top scorer Emiliano Terzaghi claimed the first goal of the match in the eighth minute of the first half. Forward Madison held just around 60% possession for the majority of the first half, but only managed to take three shots as Richmond’s defense held strong.

The Flamingos got an opportunity score with a free kick when Derek Gebhard was fouled just outside the box in the 26’ minute but they just could not seem to fully seize the opportunity. Phil Breno made a crucial touch, blocking a well-placed cross from Richmond in the 36’ minute. Both teams played a fairly clean first half, with seven free kicks each but no cards given.

Moving into the second half, Forward Madison continued to hold 60% possession. The Flamingos had an early opportunity for a goal in the 53’ minute as Gebhard took a shot that was not able to find the goal. Phil Breno arguably had the save of the game in the 63’ minute as he blocked a great shot from Johathan Bolanos. Both teams held their own in a scoreless second half, but were ultimately unable to break lines for a goal.

Forward Madison FC continues their playoff hunt next week when they have a rematch against New England Revolution II at 4PM Central. New England is currently sitting in 4th in the USL League One table and beat FMFC 1-0 this past week.

Forward Madison will hit the road to take on New England Revolution II this Friday, October 1st for a USL League One matchup. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. CT at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Forward Madison most recently played a home game against Greenville Triumph SC, where they came away with one point after a 1-1 draw.

Following Saturday’s game, the Flamingos were awarded two spots on USL League One’s Team of the Week awards. Eric Leonard was recognized for his stellar work on defense, while Aaron Molloy was recognized for his skills in midfield, remaining the top in the league for passing completion percentage.

Forward Madison FC currently sits with a record of 6-4-11, good for eighth place in the league standings. FMFC has the most games left to play with 7 to go and will be looking to use that to their advantage as they fight for a spot in the playoffs.

This week’s opponent is New England Revolution II, who currently sits in fifth place in USL League One standings with a record of 9-9-4. New England will look to remain a top defensive leader of the league, being tied at 8 games with the most clean sheets. New England Revolution II is coming off a 1-0 win against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC and will also be fighting for points to push them up the standings. 

Following Friday’s match with New England, Forward Madison FC will remain on the road for a long stretch of matches. Forward Madison FC will next take on the Richmond Kickers at 5:30 p.m. CT in Richmond on Wednesday, October 6th.

Forward Madison played host to third-place squad Greenville Triumph SC in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday night at Breese Stevens Field. The match began at 7:06pm. Forward Madison entered the match with 28 points, good enough for 7th in USL League One.

The teams exchanged possession early on in the match, with chances created on both ends. The breakthrough for Forward Madison came in the 20th minute when the squad built from the back, played a through ball to Jake Keegan on the endline, who served up a pass to Derek Gebhard to finish a tap-in goal. The Flamingos held much of the possession to end the first half and went into the break on top 1-0.

The second half had a significant amount of back and forth action, with Forward Madison playing more on the defensive to start the half. The backline of Eric Leonard and Conor Tobin was tested often by the Greenville attack, but they remained strong and limited shots on goal from the visitors. The tides changed in the 79’ minute as an errant pass to Phil Breno ended up as a Greenville Triumph equalizing goal.   

With the draw, Forward Madison remain in 7th position in the USL League One Table. Up next for FMFC is a road test against New England Revolution II on Friday, October 1 at 4pm CT.

Forward Madison launched its newest kit, the 2021 Pink Goalkeeper’s Kit, on Saturday, September 25th. The pink goalkeeper shirt will be worn by FMFC’s starting goalkeeper at all home matches for the duration of the 2021 USL League One season. The pink shirt was designed to be worn during the month of October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of proceeds from each purchase will go directly to the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation. Additionally, Dairyland Insurance will match the final amount raised from this kit and donate it to the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation.

Chase Eagan, Forward Madison’s Director of Merchandising, explains why this kit is so meaningful. “We’re very excited as a club to put out a kit that’s designed around the concept of giving back. The Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation is a local organization whose values we believe in and are pleased to help support.”

Forward Madison FC asked the Mingo Ladies, featured in the kit photoshoot, to choose a non-profit to be supported during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and they chose the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation. The Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation is a local non-profit based in Fitchburg, WI. This nonprofit is the first in the nation and the only one in Wisconsin that focuses on emotional healing by offering retreats for women throughout all stages of breast cancer.
