Chris Heckenberg Joins Fuego FC for the 2024 Season

Heckenberg, formerly with South Georgia Tormenta FC, brings valuable expertise to Central Valley Fuego FC. His familiarity with the USL League One, gained through his tenure with Tormenta FC, positions him as a strategic asset for the team’s success.
During his time with Tormenta FC over the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Heckenberg appeared in 57 games, showcasing his durability and commitment on the field, playing a total of 3894 minutes. His consistent presence in matches underlines his reliability and dedication to the team’s performance. Additionally, Heckenberg played a pivotal role in Tormenta FC 2’s 2021 season, contributing significantly to their third League Two playoff appearance.
Prior to his professional career, Heckenberg showcased his talent during his college years at California Baptist University. Over four seasons, he served as the team captain for his final two years, demonstrating leadership both on and off the field. In his senior year, Heckenberg led the team to an impressive 11-4-3 winning record, culminating in a memorable collegiate career.
Throughout his time at California Baptist University, Heckenberg earned several accolades, including Most Valuable Player, All-WAC Honorable Mention, and All-Far West Region Second Team. His statistics speak volumes, with one goal and 14 assists in 85 matches played, showcasing his versatility and playmaking abilities.
