Barça Residency Academy player makes professional debut with Fuego FC
FRESNO, Calif. – Central Valley Fuego FC announced on Friday it has signed forward Michael McFarlane as the club builds its roster for its inaugural 2022 USL League One season. This is the 18-year-old’s first professional contract. The signing is pending league and federation approval.
Originally from Vero Beach, Fla., McFarlane trained with CF Fuenlabrada of Madrid, Spain late 2021 prior to joining Fuego FC. Previously, he competed with Barça Residency Academy; recording 28 appearances, 18 goals and 16 assists.
At the club level, McFarlane competed for Indian River Soccer Academy, during his three seasons he collected 87 appearances, 107 goals and 42 assists; he was awarded Offensive Player of the Year back-to-back. McFarlane played for Brevard Beachside SC, recording 56 appearances, 43 goals and 18 assists between 2018-20. He also played for Vero Beach High School and Master’s Academy.
