Indy Eleven made a familiar face its first new acquisition of the 2022-23 offseason on Dec. 1, 2022, when Indiana’s Team made official the return of Lindley via a transfer deal with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
The Carmel native earned his first USL Championship All-League honor as a member of the Switchbacks with a Second Team nod in 2022, when his league-leading 94 chances created resulted in nine assists (tied for sixth) and an 80% pass completion rate. He also recorded 205 recoveries and 36 interceptions in a solid all-around fourth full USLC campaign that ended with Colorado Springs’ first appearance in the Western Conference Final in eight seasons.
Starting with a singular appearance for Saint Louis FC in 2018 while on loan from Major League Soccer’s Orlando City SC, Lindley has racked up 18 assists and three goals in 103 USL Championship matches for Memphis FC (2019), Indy Eleven (2020), San Antonio FC (2021), and Colorado Springs (2022). In the COVID-shortened 2020 season with Indiana’s Team, Lindley appeared in 12 of the squad’s 16 contests, including nine starts. Lindley also made three MLS appearances for Orlando to start his 2018 rookie campaign, which followed two standout seasons at NCAA powerhouse North Carolina in 2016-17.
Prior to college, Lindley was a standout for Guerin Catholic High School (where he also played point guard on the state-champion basketball team) and numerous Indiana Fire Juniors squads. His youth experience also included nearly 30 appearances with U.S. Youth National Teams starting at the Under-17 level, including two “caps” for the U.S. Under-23’s in 2019. He played with current Boys in Blue midfielder James Murphy on the U18 and U20 national teams.
