Louisville City FC’s squad will be joined by a special four-legged friend when the boys in purple take the field Saturday at Lynn Family Stadium.
Serving as honorary captain for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against the Hartford Athletic will be Twix, a 3-month-old Siberian Husky mix who’s available for adoption through the Kentucky Humane Society. It’s a tie-in to the club’s annual Pups at the Pitch night, presented by Feeders Pet Supply, which allows fans to bring their dogs with them to a game. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the humane society.
Twix made the proverbial team sheet and will be walked out of the tunnel by Kyle Adams, LouCity’s captain who returns in a slightly adjusted back three. From left to right it’s Adams, Wes Charpie and Sean Totsch with Charpie replacing Arturo Ordóñez, who will miss out due to injury.
Another of coach Danny Cruz’s changes sees Austin FC Damian Las return in goal for LouCity a week after Danny Faundez made his first USL Championship start of the season in a 1-0 away victory over Loudoun United FC.
Jake Morris and Atlanta United loanee Aiden McFadden – who entered last weekend as a halftime sub – will play out wide on the left and right, respectively, for the boys in purple.
Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder remain Cruz’s preferred midfield pairing in the 5-2-3 formation. Up top is the usual front three of Adrien Perez, Wilson Harris and Ray Serrano.
LouCity-Hartford will air locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7 with streaming coverage via ESPN+.
