Louisville City FC will be without its regular captain Wednesday, but coach Danny Cruz’s changes on a tight turnaround were minimal otherwise as his side hosts Detroit City FC for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Lynn Family Stadium.
Wilson Harris will wear the armband with Adams held out due to a minor injury. Wes Charpie will take Adams’ place on the defensive line, and Cruz’s other change is a like-for-like swap seeing Jake Morris step in for Aiden McFadden on the left wing.
The other nine members of City’s squad remain from last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Rhode Island FC. The boys in purple are on a season-best five-game unbeaten streak and sit second on the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference table.
The defensive line of Arturo Ordóñez, Charpie and Sean Totsch will set up in front of goalkeeper Damian Las. It’s Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder back in the midfield flanked by wingers Morris on the left and Jansen Wilson the Right.
LouCity’s front three in the 5-2-3 formation are Adrien Perez, Harris and Ray Serrano.
McFadden is available as a substitute, while Cruz will again take advantage of a the USL Championship rule allowing 16-year-old academy player Hayden Stamps a spot on the home bench without taking one from a professional teammate.
LouCity-Detroit City will air locally on MyTV 58 and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. CBS Sports’ Golazo Network will carry national streaming coverage.
