The project is making great progress. In the last month, our crew from Messer and Harmon have begun erecting the structural steel for the grandstands, placing the concrete for the lower seating areas and installing the foundations for the offices, locker rooms, club and mechanical rooms and all the restrooms.
Messer/Harmon JV (joint venture) was named the construction contractor for Louisville City Football Club’s new soccer-specific stadium in Butchertown.
The groundbreaking ceremony for LouCity’s stadium was held last June after all the land was cleared for construction. Since then, the crew has been hard at work building the infrastructure of the stadium.
Louisville City’s new stadium will have an initial capacity of around 14,000 fans with permanent seating for 11,700. The stadium is the centerpiece of a 40-acre, $200 million mixed-use development adjacent to Louisville’s Waterfront Park near downtown.
