
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The second edition of the River Cities Cup between Louisville City FC and FC Cincinnati — and the first played at Louisville Slugger Field — was on Friday afternoon selected as an upcoming United Soccer League Game of the Week.
The June 25 showdown will air on ESPN3.com and in Louisville on MeTV, WLKY’s digital station. Time Warner Cable subscribers can find it on channels 32.2 and at 188. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
LouCity beat FC Cincinnati by a 3-2 score on April 16 in the clubs’ only previous meeting played at Nipper Stadium on the University of Cincinnati’s campus.
Coach James O’Connor’s side has three games to play between now and the Cincinnati matchup: 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Wilmington Hammerheads FC at Slugger Field, June 18 at Rochester and June 21 back home versus Toronto FC II.
LouCity enters the weekend in a tie for first in the USL’s Eastern Conference. The club hasn’t lost in 10 matches and sports an 8-1-3 record.
