Miami, Fla. (August 24, 2022) – Miami Football Club defender Aedan Stanley earned USL Championship Team of the Week Week 24 honors after a bright performance over the weekend.
Stanley dished out an assist and helped Miami FC earn its 13th clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 away victory against Hartford Athletic.

Stanley is a key piece in the Orange and Blue’s defensive line. The 22-year-old has helped Miami FC to 11 clean sheets in his 20 starts and 22 appearances this year.
Despite being a defender, the former Duke Blue Devil also gets involved in attacking play. Stanley made a cut-back pass to attacking midfielder Florian Valot, who placed his shot in the top corner of the goal to double Miami’s lead against Hartford on Saturday night. Moreover, the Columbia, Ill., native completed 29 passes out of his 34 pass attempts and made three interceptions.
Stanley becomes the fifth MFC player to be named to the USL TOTW in the last five editions. Right-back Mark Segbers, striker Kyle Murphy, center-back Paco Craig and Valot earned TOTW honors in the past five matchdays. The individual awards are a true testament to Miami FC’s late form, boasting four wins in its last five fixtures.
