MIAMI (June 23, 2021) — The Miami FC lost 1-0 to Birmingham Legion FC at FIU Stadium in South Florida on Wednesday evening. Forward Neco Brett scored a late goal to give the visitors the victory.

Birmingham Forward Junior Flemmings had the first chance of the match in the 6th minute with a long-range shot. Goalkeeper Connor Sparrow dove to his right to send the ball out of danger. 

Miami FC would respond in the 9th minute with forward Lamar Walker finding space from far out and layering a shot directly at goalkeeper Matt Van Oekel.

Miami FC continued to pile on the pressure with back-to-back chances late in the half. Forward Christiano François positioned himself well inside the 18, but his shot would sail over the bar. Moments later Walker had his second chance of the match, but once again his shot went straight to Van Oekel as the Jamaican lost his footing right before the shot.

After Sparrow was called to make a kick save in Miami’s end, the home side had yet another chance via a speedy run by François. The Haitian forward was able to get a powerful strike on frame but once again the shot was positioned right at Van Oekel.

The second half continued to see Miami FC dominating the flow of the match, creating numerous chances in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Miami’s Connor Sparrow was not called into much action but Miami’s wall would break down in the 82nd minute.

A run down the left flank by Jaden Servania ended in a low cross into the heart of the box. After a dummy by JJ Williams, the ball rolled directly to Bret who smashed it past Sparrow.

Miami FC had two late chances via second-half substitute Ariel Martinez and midfielder Bolu Akinyode but both chances failed to get on frame.

The home side returns to FIU Stadium this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they host Charlotte Independence.

MT. PLEASANT, SC. (June 18, 2021) — The Miami FC lost 2-1 to Charleston Battery at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium on Friday night. An early goal by forward Lamar Walker put the away side up, but Charleston would be able to find two unanswered goals to take the three points.

With the clock striking the fifth minute, Walker hinted at was to come in just minutes. A curling effort by the Jamaican was parried away by a diving Joe Kuzminsky.

Walker had his revenge just two minutes later, sending a low-driving free kick into the back of the net for his first goal since joining Miami FC earlier this year. The strike was helped out by defender Paco Craig, who was able to throw Kuzminsky off with a dangerous run towards the ball.

Charleston would react in the 24th minute as forward Zeiko Lewis found space inside the box and volleyed it past a diving Connor Sparrow. 

The home side’s second half got of to a good start with Joel Bunting netting the game-winning goal in the 50th minute, tapping in a low cross by AJ Patterson.

Miami FC saw a spark in their play when forward Adonijah Reid came off the bench in the second half. The Canadian nearly scored the equalizer in the 64th minute, finding space inside the box with a crafty move but his shot would be denied by Kuzminsky.

Miami FC continued to pour on the pressure in the final 30 minutes of the match but it would not be enough to steal a point in Charleston.

Miami FC has back-to-back home matches starting with Wednesday’s nationally televised match against Birmingham Legion (available on ESPN DEPORTES). Miami will then host Charlotte Independence on Saturday night. 

MIAMI (June 18, 2021) — The Miami FC announced on Friday that the club’s matches at its beautiful stadium at Florida International University will now be available to fans at full capacity beginning on Saturday, July 17 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets starting Wednesday morning on the club’s official website. Miami FC will abide by all CDC guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests in attendance.

Miami FC will offer single game tickets for the North Reserved seating area, with tickets starting at $25 for adults and $12 for youth. Please note that tickets will increase to $30 for adults and $15 for youth on match days. For more information, click here.

Fans will also be able to purchase a fútbol305™ Membership for the North Reserved seats, which will include tickets to all nine remaining home matches, while also adding great benefits such as merchandise and concessions discounts. PITTSBURGH (June 12, 2021) – Christiano Francois scored an equalizer late in the first half as Miami FC earned a 1-1 draw against hosts Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday night at Highmark Stadium after the Hounds had taken an early lead.

Head Coach Bob Lilley had asked his Hounds for a fast start, and the hosts put pressure on Miami’s goal inside two minutes as a cross by Preston Kilwien from the left was punched clear by Miami goalkeeper Connor Sparrow as Cicerone looked for a header. Pittsburgh struck in the ninth minute, however, as Alex Dixon drove into the left side of the penalty area before flicking a pass centrally that Cicerone sent home first-time into the right corner of the net.

Miami grew into the game after being put on the back foot but didn’t threaten until just before the half-hour mark as Francois gained possession from Richie Ballard in the right side of the penalty area, but his cross was plucked out of the air by Hounds goalkeeper Danny Vitiello. Making his return to face his former club, however, Francois struck in first-half stoppage time as his pace saw him beat Vitiello to a through-ball by Ariel Martinez into the top of the penalty area before the Haitian international delivered a finish into the net as the covering defender was unable to make a last-ditch clearance.

Miami threatened to grab the lead nine minutes into the second half as Martinez first delivered a pass to Pierre Da Silva in the penalty area and then followed his pass to receive a return that he lashed just over the crossbar. The Hounds then went close on the hour-mark as Kenado Forbes delivered a fine ball over the top for Dixon into the left side of the penalty area that the forward fired on frame only to be denied by Sparrow before his defense crowded out any second chance.

The Hounds went close again with 20 minutes to go as Dixon got into space on the left and cut back a cross to the near post where Cicerone was crashing the net, but this time his finish went wide under pressure from a defender. Then it was the turn of the visitors as Jahshaun Anglin got to a corner kick from the left by Da Silva but directed his header wide of the right post, while Pittsburgh threatened again with five minutes to go as Albert Dikwa’s effort was saved by Sparrow. There would be no late winner for either side, however, as the game ended all square.

MIAMI (June 6, 2021) — The Miami FC suffered a tough loss on Sunday evening against RGV FC Toros in Miami, FL. Despite getting off to a picture-perfect start, going up 2-0 after just 19 minutes, Miami FC would suffer four unanswered goals by RGV in the second half.

Miami FC’s amazing start kicked off in the 15th minute when forward Pierre Da Silva stepped up to take a corner kick and curled his cross into the far post of goalkeeper Tyler Deric. 

The home side continued to pile on the pressure, finding their second goal of the night in the 19th minute courtesy of an own goal by Carter Manley. The defender was forced to take an uncomfortable touch due to a fantastic run by forward Adonijah Reid. 

Forward Cristiano François had an amazing opportunity to put Miami up 3-0, but Deric made a fantastic diving save to his right to deny the Haitian his goal.

The second half did not start any where similar to how the first forty five developed. A 51st minute header by forward Elvis Amoh cut Miami’s lead to one. To make matters worse, Miami midfielder Bolu Akinyode was sent off after an off-the-ball incident with Amoh.

Amoh continued to be a spine in Miami’s back, equalizing the match in the 66th minute. The forward received a through ball as he entered the box, curling his shot past a diving Connor Sparrow. 

The second-half nightmare continued for Miami FC in the 68th minute. A cross from the left flank by RGV Toros seemed to be easy to deal with, but after two deflections by defenders Callum Chapman-Page and Paco Craig, the ball ended up in the back of the net to give the visiting team the lead.

Despite being a man down, Miami FC continued to fight in search of a heroic equalizer, but that would be put to bed in the 96 minute after Amoh scored his third goal of the match to put Toros up 4-2.

Miami FC will now travel to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds this upcoming Saturday, June 12.

MIAMI (June 6, 2021) – The Miami FC announced on Sunday the signing of midfielder Robert Baggio Kcira, who returns to Miami for his third stint with the club. Kcira will be eligible to play in Sunday’s home match against Western Conference rival RGV FC Toros.

“Robert is someone who has been training with us the past several weeks and you can see that he still has that Miami FC DNA instilled in his style of play,” said Technical Director and Head Coach Paul Dalglish. “He’s a hard-working midfielder, who gives us some versatility as he can be deployed in several different positions on the pitch. His addition will help us be a stronger team, while adding depth to an already very talented roster.”

Baggio Kcira is no stranger to Miami FC, having been one of the original members of the club’s inaugural 2016 side who competed in the North American Soccer League. The midfielder spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons with Miami’s only professional fútbol club, playing in 14 matches, while scoring two goals. After departing in 2017, he would later return to Miami FC in 2019 when the club enjoyed success in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA).

Originally born in New York City, New York, Baggio Kcira made the jump into the New York Red Bulls Academy after several successful years in the NY State Olympic Development Program as well as Clarkstown FC’s youth academy. After high school, Baggio Kcira elected to sign with SC Wiener Neustadt of the Austrian Football Bundesliga, the top tier in Austria. The midfielder of Albanian descent saw success in the club’s reserve side, where he led the club in goals and assists in the 2014-15 season. Overall Baggio Kcira spent three seasons in Austria before returning to the US.

Baggio Kcira and Miami FC return to action this Sunday night when they host RGV FC Toros in Miami, FL. The club is looking to earn three points which will help them leapfrog several teams in the Eastern Conference Atlantic standings.

MIAMI (May 29, 2021) — The Miami FC defeated Charlotte Independence 2-1 on Saturday evening in Miami. A late winner by forward Adonijah Reid gave the home side the three points to keep climbing in the standings.

Miami dominated in the first 45 minutes of play, keeping Charlotte to no shots on target. The first chance of the night came from forward Billy Forbes in the 8th minute, with the Turks & Caicos international firing his shot over the bar.

Just before the 30th minute, Forbes would set up Miami’s first goal with a lobbed pass to McFarlane. The Jamaican entered the box and fired a shot, which deflected off a Charlotte defender and hit the back of the net.

Right before the end of the half, midfielder Bolu Akinyode had a chance of his own. After receiving a pass from “Speedy” Williams, Akinyode one-timed a curling effort, only to see it go inches wide of the right post.

The second half began just how the first 45 left off, with Miami FC pushing to extend the lead. 

In the 54th minute, McFarlane had a chance to double the lead after receiving a great through ball by Williams, but his shot was denied by goalkeeper Brandon Miller. 

After the clear chance, Charlotte found the equalizer in the 57th minute off a fantastic free kick from midfielder Jake Areman. His curling effort left Miami FC goalkeeper Connor Sparrow with no chance at making the save.

Second-half substitute Pierre Da Silva came inches away from making it 2-1 in the 72nd minute. His free kick from over 25 yards out smashed off Charlotte’s post, hit off the back of Miller’s head and traveled the length of the goal line and out of danger.

Just two minutes later, Miami FC broke through Charlotte’s back line and took the lead. A long ball from Williams forced Miller off his line and a defensive mistake by Charlotte. Da Silva played the ball back to an Reid, who chipped Miller from distance to score his first goal of the season.

Miami FC will now host RGV Toros this upcoming Sunday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m.
