Born in Kingston, Jamaica, McFarlane is predominantly a right back but can be deployed as center back if needed. He spent both the 2019 and 2020 season with USL Championship’s Austin Bold, where he featured in 51 official matches including league and U.S. Open Cup play. In 2020, McFarlane was able to tally up two goals and two assists in just 15 matches, making him one of the top players in his position.

Prior to joining Austin, McFarlane had a terrific 2018 season with Miami FC, playing a crucial part in the National Premier Soccer League championship run. In 18 appearances, the Jamaican scored three goals. McFarlane joined Miami after a successful 2017 season which saw him score two goals and record two assists in 29 league matches with Colorado Switchbacks of the USL Championship.

Coming to the United States at the age of 11, McFarlane is no stranger to South Florida. He first studied at the American Heritage School in Fort Lauderdale and after a short stint at Saint Leo University, he transferred to Florida International University, home of Riccardo Silva Stadium.
