This year, fairgoers will have the opportunity to experience the fun of the State Fair and the excitement of New Mexico United together.
“We are continuously looking to create experiences that bring New Mexicans together,” said Peter Trevisani, CEO and majority owner of New Mexico United. “When the State Fair approached us with this opportunity we were ecstatic. We get to meet people traveling from all over the state of New Mexico for this year’s fair, and they, in turn, get to experience New Mexico United.”
On Sunday, September 8 at 5 pm MT, New Mexico United fans can head over to EXPO New Mexico’s Villa Hispana to catch a watch party for Oklahoma City Energy FC v. New Mexico United. The Villa Hispana stage will feature a large LED screen to stream the game, with seating available for approximately 2,000 people. Fans can enjoy food & beverage concessions within the complex.
“We are thrilled to host an Official United watch party at this year’s Fair,” said New Mexico State Fair General Manager, Dan Mourning. “The fair is all about celebrating everything that New Mexicans can be proud of. New Mexico United has experienced a phenomenal inaugural year and in the spirit of bringing folks together to rally around our state’s greatness, it seemed only natural to host a watch party at the State Fair.”
Fairgoers will also be able to participate in a meet & greet on Thursday, September 12 from 1:30-3:30 pm MT with five New Mexico United players. Fans can stop by for photos, chat with the players and have autographs signed. Closer to this date, New Mexico United will announce which players will be at this event on their social media channels.
The 2019 New Mexico State Fair will take place from September 5-15 and promises to offer something for everyone. From the inaugural wine and cider festivals to the perennial favorites like the Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge and Battle of the Salsas, there will be no shortage of events for foodies of all categories. The entertainment lineup scheduled for Tingley Coliseum will thrill rodeo and music fans alike. The nation’s toughest cowboys will go head-to-head with some of the roughest stock and rankest bulls known to man. Add into the mix premium livestock shows, acclaimed art exhibits, spectacular attractions, culturally diverse music and dance groups, car shows, and a midway full of dazzling lights and thrilling rides, and you have a state fair experience worthy of our national ranking.
