PHOENIX (April 23, 2019) — Phoenix Rising forward Junior Flemmings was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 7 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today. Teammate Jason Johnson received an honorable mention nod. On Saturday evening, Flemmings scored a brace and added an assist, leading the way in the club’s 4-0 win over Tacoma Defiance. Johnson scored a goal and provided an assist on one of Flemmings’ goals.
This is the fifth week this season a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league and the second time Flemmings has been singled out. He was a Team of the Week Honorable Mention in Week 1. This is the first time Johnson has been recognized by the league in 2019.
Phoenix Rising is back on the pitch this Saturday, April 27th, at Sacramento Republic FC. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Fans can watch the match on Your PHX CW (channel 6 on cable and 61.1 on satellite & over-the-air) or stream the audio of the match on ArizonaSports.com.
The club is also hosting two official watch parties at Venezia’s Pizza in Tempe and Tim Finnegan’s in Glendale.
