(PHOENIX) October 17, 2017 – Phoenix Rising FC forward Didier Drogba was named to the United Soccer League Team of the Week for Week 30. This is the 15th time a Phoenix Rising FC player has been named to the team of the week this season and the second time time Drogba has received the honor. He was named to the Team of the Week for Week 13. He was also a Team of the Week Honorable Mention for Weeks 16 and 29.
This is the eighth consecutive week a Phoenix Rising FC player has been recognized by the league with a Team of the Week or Team of the Week Honorable Mention honor.
Drogba scored a goal and provided an assist in Phoenix Rising FC's regular season-ending 4-1 win over Portland Timbers FC 2. His goal is currently up for USL Goal of the Week.
Phoenix Rising FC plays in its first-ever playoff match this Saturday, at Swope Park Rangers. The match kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Arizona time and will be televised live locally on YurView Arizona, Cox Channels 4 & 1004. Fans can also watch the match at the club's official watch party at the Thirsty Lion in Tempe Marketplace.
