PHOENIX (December 4, 2017) — Phoenix Rising FC announced today it has re-signed midfielder Alessandro Riggi for the 2018 season. Riggi appeared in 21 matches in 2017, scoring four goals and notching four assists. His four assists were tied for the second-most for the club.
“I’m blessed and thankful to be back where I feel appreciated,” Riggi said. “I can’t wait to give the organization and fans even more in 2018! Go Rising!”
Riggi first joined the club in 2017 from former USL side FC Montreal and made his debut as a substitute in Phoenix Rising FC’s season-opening match against Toronto FC II. He scored his first goal with the club on April 23 in a 4-3 over Swope Park Rangers. Riggi was also a USL Team of the Week honorable mention twice in 2017. Riggi is the club’s first official signing for the 2018 season.
