As part of this effort, we invite all Phoenix Rising fans to join members of our staff and volunteer at two upcoming tree planting events. Let’s come together to create a greener future for our schools and neighborhoods!
These tree plantings will beautify the school grounds, expand tree canopy cover, and improve air quality in some of Phoenix’s most underserved areas. Volunteering with AZSA is a great way to give back to the community while learning about the environmental and social impact of urban forestry.

Help us plant 31 trees at Gateway Elementary! Volunteers will receive training and tools on-site. This is a fun opportunity to learn about tree planting and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow volunteers. Phoenix Rising FC staff will be in attendance, and we encourage our fans to join us!
Join us as we plant 22 trees at Loma Linda Elementary! This event will help create a greener, healthier space for the school community. Volunteers will be guided through the process and provided with all necessary tools and supplies. Phoenix Rising FC staff will be there, and we hope to see many of our fans volunteering alongside us.
Increasing tree canopy cover benefits the community in numerous ways. It improves air quality, reduces asthma rates, provides much-needed shade, and enhances mental health. However, schools in lower-income areas often have fewer trees, contributing to social inequities. By volunteering at these events, you’ll help address this disparity and create a better environment for students and the local community.
These tree plantings are not only about beautifying the space but also about educating young people on environmental stewardship. Together, we can support a more sustainable and equitable future!

Phoenix Rising is hosting a Town Hall-style open forum on Thursday, September 5, at Walter Station, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The evening’s discussion will be led by Phoenix Rising Color Commentator Joe Lowery, joined by Club President Bobby Dulle, Sporting Director and Partial Owner Brandon McCarthy, and a surprise player. With the addition of the Phoenix Rising FC specialty plates, MVD now offers 104 options that can be viewed at azdot.gov/plates and ordered at azmvdnow.gov/plates.
“Specialty license plates offer a great way to customize a vehicle and show your proud support for one of these uniquely Arizona organizations,” MVD Director Eric Jorgensen said. “MVD is pleased to offer the various plates that will have an impact for the organizations dedicated to improving Arizona and our communities.”
Most specialty plates cost $25 each year. Of that amount, $17 goes to a designated charity or nonprofit group. During the fiscal year that ended June 30, sales of specialty plates contributed over $12 million for various causes and charities. The Phoenix Rising specialty plate is available to anyone, and contributions will provide soccer programs and services to boys and girls K-12 whose families have financial challenges.
“Our fans have been asking for a Phoenix Rising license plate for years, and we’re thrilled to finally make this a reality. We involved our fans every step of the way to select the most popular plate while adhering to the state’s guidelines,” said Phoenix Rising President Bobby Dulle. “It’s a fantastic way for our fans to show their Rising pride on the road and, best of all, every plate purchased will support our youth programs, helping to make the game more accessible for young players across our community.”
Specialty plates are authorized by the Arizona Legislature and have been offered since 1989. Plate designs complete a review by ADOT and law enforcement. Personalization can be added for an additional $25 per year.

Phoenix Rising FC will host its first $1 Beer Night of the 2024 season at Phoenix Rising Stadium on Saturday, June 22, in combination with its annual Pride Night match, the club announced today. The match will also be broadcast live nationally on ESPN2 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Presented by Circle K, the game will be a rematch of the 2023 USL Championship Final vs. Charleston Battery, which Phoenix won, 3-2, in kicks from the mark following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes in South Carolina.
In addition to $1 Modelos, fans can secure a ticket for the match starting at just $15 and take part in several inclusivity initiatives featuring local nonprofits:
ONE Community is a coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals who are moving diversity, inclusion, equity and equality forward for all Arizonans. The nonprofit will be providing information on voter registration at the match. Fans are encouraged to stop by one of their booths to obtain a commemorative June 22 match poster and write in why voting is important to them. During the hydration break of the first half (20-30 minute), fans will be asked to hold up their signs to create a photo op for ONE Community.
Phoenix Rising midfielder JP Scearce and assistant coach Darnell King were featured in a promo video for YourVoteIsYourVoice.com, which was created by ONE Community to assist citizens in learning how to register to vote.
One-in-Ten, a local nonprofit looking to create a world where all LGBTQIA youth and young adults are embraced for who they are, will be attending the June 22 match on behalf of Waymo, a mutual partner of One-in-Team and Rising. Members of the One-in-Ten community will also be featured in a video to educate Rising fans on the significance of pride month to LGBTQ+ youth.
Phoenix Rising winger Gabi Torres attended PHX Pride’s Rainbows Festival earlier this year to support the nonprofit, show off the 2023 USL Championship trophy onstage and sign autographs at the Waymo tent. Fundraiser links that give a portion of all tickets sold were distributed to PHX Pride, ONE Community and One-in-Ten earlier this year as a way to raise money for these vital community organizations.
The Phoenix Gay Men’s Choir sang the national anthem to promote the club’s Pride Night match on May 18.
Raul Sanchez, a native Arizonian, a 10-year and three-time combat veteran and one half of the first gay couple married in the City of Phoenix will sing the national anthem on June 22. This will be the third time Sanchez sings the anthem for Phoenix Rising’s Pride Night. He is a respected leader in the LGBTQIA community that has served six years as the Volunteer Chairman at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As a tribute to those who are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces or who have served in the past, Phoenix Rising players wore a Military Appreciation Training Top at the match on April 20. The top is a slate grey, with the names of those who served etched into the front and “Semper Fi” on the back.

Show some love to our friends in Anthem. The training top was inspired by the Veterans Memorial in Anthem, and the City of Anthem has been a huge supporter of the club and its ability to get this kit created and sold to honor our veterans.
