We had the chance to sit down with members from our LBGTQ Community Partners: Phoenix Gay Flag Football League, One N Ten, and One Community. They explained their journey being apart of the community and how soccer has played a role in their lives.

Boasting just one loss in its last seven league matches, Phoenix Rising FC (5-5-4) now embarks on a stretch of three away matches in its next four, beginning with a trip to El Paso (3-9-2) to face the retooled Locomotive FC this Saturday, June 15 at 6 p.m. That match will be broadcast live on Arizona’s Family Sports and ESPN+.

“We were not consistent during the first part of the season,” said forward Dariusz Formella, who was named USL Championship Player of the Week on Tuesday. “We had a lot of good performances without the results and some good results without strong performances. I hope this game will be another big step for us and we’ll start a nice winning streak.”

Phoenix Rising FC (4-5-4) hosts Orange County SC (5-4-3) this Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m.

A total of 13 games in, Rising is a point off the pace set by last season’s squad (4-4-5). While the offense has yet to ignite (14 GF), it is still just two goals off the pace of the 2023 team (16 GF). Rising’s defense has improved, having allowed only 14 goals compared to 17 at this point last season.

Phoenix Rising FC (3-4-3) earned a point on the road at hostile Keyworth Stadium, today, finishing 1-1 vs. Detroit City FC (5-1-2).

Giulio Doratiotto found the back of the net for the second match in a row for Phoenix. He was assisted on the goal by Emil Cuello. Rising returns to Phoenix next Saturday, May 18 to face Miami FC at 7:30 p.m.
