With the NWSL Championship set for Nov. 20 at Lynn Family Stadium — and Racing Louisville FC a first-year member of the league — the club’s supporters have pitched in to welcome visitors to town.
All this week, we’ll be posting fan-recommended spots to eat, drink, stay and more at www.racingloufc.com/racingloufc.
What pairs well with bourbon? Just about anything. Check out a few of these nearby favorites.
Chick’n & Mi: 1766 Mellwood Avenue
They say it’s asian fusion meets southern comfort. We just say it’s really good — and a hotspot before Racing Louisville games. There’s also a full bar featuring a sake, craft beer and cocktail menu.
GALAXIE: 732 E. Market Street
In addition to its award-winning margaritas — go for a spicy marg if you’re feeling adventurous! — GALAXIE offers tasty Mexican eats, an outdoor patio and a separate late-night music venue space in the back.
NuLu Marketplace: 823 E. Market Street
A recent addition to the neighborhood, this hub of bars, restaurants and boutiques brings together a bit of everything, including Torino’s Sandwich Bar and Emmy Squared Pizza.
Royals Hot Chicken: 736 E. Market Street
A sister restaurant of nearby Feast BBQ, this Nashville-style hot chicken joint offers comfort food sides and drink options that include alcohol-infused slushies and shakes.
The Seafood Lady: 601 E. Jefferson Street
Louisville’s airport contains one of UPS’ largest hubs, and this spot makes the most of it, bringing in fresh ingredients for Florida-style platters. Crab, lobster and crawfish are all specialties at what grew from a food truck to multiple brick and mortar locations.
Honorable mention: The Brown Hotel, at 335 W. Broadway, is known for inventing the famous Hot Brown, now a widely known Louisville dish. And as for KFC: It tastes the same here as wherever you’re from.
