PITTSBURGH (July 20, 2017) – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (5-7-6) wrap up their three-game road swing in Rochester this weekend facing the Rhinos (6-3-7) at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 at Capelli Sport Stadium.
Unbeaten in their last two games – both draws – the Hounds will look to capture points in three straight road tilts for the first time since the end of the 2015 season. Both clubs are 1-2-2 in their past five matches.
Historically, Rochester has been a “House of Horrors” for the Hounds, as they have won only once in nine tries since 2011, including scoring goals in only two of those matches. The lone road victory came during the 2014 season, a 3-2 decision featuring current Hounds in Danny Earls, Mike Green and Kevin Kerr.
In head-to-head action all-time, the Rhinos hold a 23-6-4 advantage, including 12-3-2 in the current era of the USL since 2011. This is the first of three meetings between the clubs this season and only one in Rochester.
Sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference, the Hounds currently remain only two points out of the eight-seed. Saturday’s tilt is the second of a brutal four-game stretch against opponents with a winning record. To date, Pittsburgh is 1-1-1 against such opponents on the road.
Fans can catch all of this weekend’s action via USL Match Center or watch the stream live on YouTube. Further details on the game can be found below.
