ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (December 14, 2018) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies will open the 2019 USL Championship season on the road before hosting the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Al Lang Stadium in their home opener on March 16, 2019.
The USL unveiled home openers for all 36 Championship clubs Friday afternoon, revealing that the Rowdies will visit Memphis 901 FC on opening day, Saturday, March 9. It will be Memphis’ inaugural match.
At this time, the only way to secure tickets to the Rowdies 2019 home opener is to purchase season tickets by calling (727) 222-2000. Single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
The USL Championship regular season will feature a 34-game slate. The Rowdies will play each of the Eastern Conference’s other 17 teams once at home and once on the road in a balanced schedule.
New opponents for 2019 include expansion teams Memphis 901 FC, Birmingham Legion FC, Loudoun United FC and Hartford Athletic, as well as Swope Park Rangers and Saint Louis FC, both of which moved over from the Western Conference. Saint Louis competed against the Rowdies in the Eastern Conference in 2017.
The full Championship schedule is expected as early as next week.
