ST. PETERSBURG, FL – On Friday, the Tampa Bay Rowdies announced the club has sent defender Timmy Mehl on loan to Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for the remainder of the side’s 2022 USL League One season.
Mehl joined the Rowdies in the lead up to the 2022 USL Championship season after two impressive campaigns with Loudoun United FC. The 26-year-old defender has made three appearances in league play for the Rowdies thus far, including a start in the club’s 3-2 loss at Al Lang Stadium on April 30. Mehl also started in Tampa Bay’s 6-0 victory over The Villages SC in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
This is Mehl’s second loan spell in Chattanooga. In 2019, while under contract with North Carolina FC, Mehl was sent on a short-term loan to Chattanooga, where he made three appearances for Red Wolves SC.
The Rowdies are in South Florida this Saturday to face in-state rival Miami FC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match can be streamed on ESPN+. On Saturday, June 18, the Rowdies return to Al Lang to take on the Charleston Battery for the first time in 2022. The match, presented by Rowdies partner Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, is also Pride Night at Al Lang. Tickets for the match can be purchased online by clicking here or by calling the Rowdies ticket office at 727-222-2000.
