Taintor Scored in Second-Straight Match on Saturday
SAN ANTONIO (June 13, 2023) – San Antonio FC defender Mitchell Taintor has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week, after scoring for the second-straight match in a 2-2 draw with El Paso Locomotive FC.
Taintor scored the opening goal on Saturday, heading in a corner kick for his second score of the season. The defender created two chances on the night, while making three clearances, two tackles and an interception on the defensive end of the field.
Taintor makes it onto the Team of the Week for the second time this season, and makes three-straight weeks with an SAFC player on the list.
SAFC is on the road tomorrow for a midweek matchup with San Diego Loyal SC. Kickoff from Torero Field is set for 9:00 p.m. CT, and can be streamed on ESPN+.
