Baylee DeSmit, a midfielder from the mighty state of Maryland, is bringing her talents to the First Coast. With 52 goals and 28 assists tallied during her three years with McDonogh High School, DeSmit became an excellent addition to the 2019 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship team where she became the leading scorer, and led them to the finals. Club experience with Pipeline SC helped propel her into her collegiate career.
Throughout the course of her career with Loyola University Maryland that spanned from 2021 to 2024, DeSmit started in 70 of her 72 games with 36 goals and 21 assists registered. She earned eight nominations to awards including the 2023 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Patriot League in 2022 and 2023, and has recorded over 5,500 minutes on the pitch. The addition of DeSmit to the Sporting JAX roster will not only add a powerful layer to the middle, but a layer that can make an immediate impact.
