Adrienne Sorrensen
Adrienne Sorenson joins us as she enters her 11th season as head coach of the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs. She took over the program in 2010 after a 2-15-2 finish the previous year. The program has steadily improved each year making the post season every year from 2011 to the present. In 2016 the program went to the State Elite 8 and continued to make the Elite 8 in 2017 and 2018. Third time was the charm as the program made their first ever final 4 appearance in 2018 falling 2-1 in the state semifinal and finishing 3rd in the state and #9 in the Nation. The 2019 United Soccer Coaches preseason poll debuted the Mustangs at #2 in the Nation and the team spent every week of the 2019 regular season in the top 5 Nationally. Sorenson takes the most pride in the over 90% sophomore transfer rate from 2010-present, most moving on with scholarships to play at the next level. In spring 2019 7 sophomores signed National Letters of intent to play at the Division I, Division II and NAIA level. Helping her student-athletes reach their goals and develop as people is the top priority for Sorenson, a junior college product who transferred to Cal State Stanislaus and graduated with her BA degree in Kinesiology in 2009. At Sierra she led the team in goals as a freshman and won a Big 8 Championship.
