The United Soccer League, one of the most prominent Division II leagues in the world, had an incredibly successful year as the league set numerous records.
Entering the final week of the regular season, the USL surpassed two million in attendance which was a new high for the league and a 38% increase from the 2016 season. Several clubs set individual club attendance record including the Switchbacks.
The league also saw a 52% increase in social media followers across their Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.
There was an astounding 214% increase in videos on the leagues' social media accounts.
The league will also welcome three new clubs to the league next year (Freson, Las Vegas, and Nashville) with Austin and Birmingham set to join in 2019 bringing the league total to 36 teams.
