USA Softball reopens application period for 2021-2024 Women’s and Junior Women’s National Team Coaching Pool
OKLAHOMA CITY — Under the support of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and as the National Governing Body (NGB) for softball in the United States, USA Softball has reopened the application process for the Women’s National Team Coaches Pool (WNTCP) and Junior Women’s National Team Coaches Pool (JWNTCP) for the 2021-2024 Quadrennium. Coaches may serve in multiple pools if they can show that they have the time available for the commitment and are selected to serve in multiple pools.
The WNTCP will be responsible for any Women’s National Teams that represent the U.S. where the female athlete is 19 years or older (Ex. U-22 and U-23).
The JWNTCP will be responsible for any Junior Women’s National Teams where the female athlete is age 18 years or younger (Ex. U-15 and U-18).
The USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC) and Junior Women’s National Team Selection Committee (JWNTSC) will select coaches for the coaching pool. Pool coaches may be required to participate in international competition, player evaluations, selection trials, fundraising efforts for the Women’s and Junior Women’s Programs and other specified events as part of the evaluation process. Coaches will work under the direction of the USA Softball Chief Sport Development/Performance Officer, Chris Sebren.
The schedule for the USA Softball WNT, U-18 WNT and U-15 WNT has yet to be finalized for 2024, but the international calendar will be highlighted by the Americas Qualifiers as well as the WBSC World Cups.
To be considered as a candidate for the pool, please e-mail a letter of interest and resume to arrive no later than Friday, December 22, 2023, which must include: national coaching and/or playing experience, international coaching and/or playing experience, clinic and/or speaking experience, and reasons you would like to be a member of the Women’s National Team and/or Junior Women’s National Team Coaching Pool. Please indicate if you are interested in a head coaching job and/or an assistant coaching job.
