BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 20, 2022) – Birmingham Legion FC announced today that defender Freddy Kleemann underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. The injury occurred in Legion FC’s match on March 19 at FC Tulsa, and the center back will miss the remainder of the season.
Kleemann started in Legion FC’s first two matches of the season after joining the club the first week of March, on loan from Major League Soccer’s Austin FC. He returned to Austin for surgery and rehabilitation, and everyone within the Birmingham organization wishes him a speedy recovery.
