Atlanta United have loaned defender Mikey Ambrose and goalkeeper Alex Tambakis to the Charleston Battery for Saturday’s match against FC Cincinnati, pending USSF approval.
Tambakis returns to Charleston after spending the entire 2016 season with the Battery. The Greek goalkeeper earned six shutouts in 20 starts for Charleston last season. Tambakis was included on Atlanta’s 18-man roster for their match against Chicago Fire last weekend.
Ambrose played with Charleston for the first match of the Carolina Challenge Cup against Seattle Sounders then returned to Atlanta for the beginning of the MLS season. The defender made five appearances for Orlando City SC last season.
Both players will be available for selection for Saturday’s match against FC Cincinnati. The match kicks off at 7:00pm at MUSC Health Stadium.
