Charleston Battery goalkeeper Daniel Kuzemka will miss an extended period of time in the 2025 season following a knee injury sustained during training. The exact timetable for Kuzemka, who signed a multi-year contract extension in the offseason, is still to be determined. Kuzemka is set to begin a period of recovery and rehabilitation and the club looks forward to seeing him back in action before the year concludes. The club additionally thanks the talented team at MUSC Health for their care for Kuzemka as he starts his return-to-play journey.
“Dan is genuinely the heart of this team and at the center of our club, he epitomizes what a Battery footballer exactly is with his selflessness, his desire and passion, as well as his hard work and dedication to others,” said Head Coach Ben Pirmann. “While we are saddened about his short-term hiatus, we know that Dan will be stronger than ever upon his return and we can’t wait for him to be back in the fold.”
