24-year-old brings USL Championship experience
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 3, 2022) – The Charlotte Independence announced today that the club had acquired goalkeeper Noah Abrams on a short-term loan from USL Championship club The Miami FC. Abrams joins the Jacks with USL Championship experience. The 24-year-old competed for Loudoun United FC in 2021 before signing with The Miami FC earlier this year.
Abrams’ journey to the USL Championship began in 2020 when he trained with Loudoun United before signing his first professional contract with Israeli Liga Leumit side Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam.
On April 2, 2021, Abrams returned to the United States to join Loudoun United. He made his professional debut on September 8, 2021, starting against the Charlotte Independence.
Abrams spent his collegiate soccer career at Northeastern University. After three seasons from 2017-2019 (the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), he made 20 appearances for the Huskies, recording 59 saves and one clean sheet.
While at college, Abrams also appeared in USL League Two for FA Euro New York in 2017, making two appearances. In 2018, he played with Brazos Valley Cavalry FC, making two additional League Two appearances.
Abrams was born in London, England and moved to the United States when he was 10 years old. He attended the Berkshire School where he played for three years as a captain of the soccer team. Abrams played club soccer for Black Rock FC where he captained the team for two years.
The Charlotte Independence (4-2-2) currently sit at the top of the USL League One Standings. This weekend they travel to face regional rival Greenville Triumph SC (3-3-2) for the first time this season. The match will take place at Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina and kickoff is set for 7:00 PM. Fans can live stream the match for free at bahakelsports.com.
