
Chattanooga Red Wolves SC forward Sito Seoane and defender Tony Walls have been named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 20 of the league’s inaugural 2019 season.
The two connected in the 57th minute of the match to open scoring on Saturday. Seoane received a ball in from Walls off the right flank. Despite being surrounded by defenders, Seoane managed to break free down the middle of the pitch to the Tormenta 18-yard box, sending a rocket into the top left corner of the net past goalkeeper Pablo Jara. The goal marked Seoane’s third of the season.
Seoane completed 3 of 4 dribbles and made three recoveries in the club’s 2-1 road victory against Tormenta FC.
In addition to recording his first assist of the season, Walls made six recoveries and five clearances and won 3 of 4 aerial duels.
This marks Seoane’s second appearance on Team of the Week and Walls’ fourth appearance.
Chattanooga turns around to host North Texas SC at David Stanton Field on Saturday, Aug. 17 for the club’s Kickin’ It For Kids With Cancer match in partnership with the Austin Hatcher Foundation. USL League One Team of the Week
GK – Carlos Merancio Valdez, FC Tucson: Merancio Valdez put in a six-save performance to earn Tucson a 1-1 draw on the road against League One leaders North Texas SC.
D – Ivan Magalhaes, Richmond Kickers: Magalhaes made two interceptions, seven recoveries, completed 38 of 51 passes and won 3 of 4 duels as the Kickers earned a 1-0 victory against Forward Madison FC.
D – Tony Walls, Chattanooga Red Wolves: Walls recorded one assist, made six recoveries and five clearances and won 3 of 4 aerial duels in the Red Wolves’ 2-1 victory against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
D – Jorge Almaguer, North Texas SC: Almaguer completed 53 of 56 passes, completed 3 of 3 dribbles, recorded two key passes and made two recoveries in North Texas’ 1-1 draw with FC Tucson.
M – Arturo Rodriguez, North Texas SC: Rodriguez scored the equalizer for his side in a 1-1 draw with FC Tucson that capped a performance in which he made four key passes, completed 55 of 66 passes overall and made seven recoveries.
M – Dominic Boland, Greenville Triumph SC: Boland scored once and made three interceptions and six recoveries in Greenville’s 3-1 victory against Toronto FC II last Friday evening.
M – Josh Hughes, Richmond Kickers: Hughes recorded three interceptions, won 11 of 18 combined duels and won 4 of 5 tackles as the Kickers defeated Forward Madison FC 1-0 on Saturday night.
M – Carlos Gomez, Greenville Triumph SC: Gomez notched a pair of assists, completed 15 of 18 passes overall, and made six recoveries and two interceptions to help Triumph SC to victory against Toronto FC II.
F – Jordan Jones, FC Tucson: Jones scored FCT’s goal and led the line for Tucson in a 1-1 draw on the road against North Texas, winning 12 of 23 duels and 9 of 16 aerial duels in a hard-working display.
F – Jake Keegan, Greenville Triumph SC: Keegan moved into a tie for the league-lead with his ninth goal this season while also completing 20 of 22 passes and winning 4 of 6 duels against Toronto FC II.
F – Sito Seoane, Chattanooga Red Wolves: Seoane scored the opening goal for the Red Wolves against Tormenta FC, completed 3 of 4 dribbles and made three recoveries in the club’s 2-1 victory on the road.
