Chattanooga Red Wolves SC and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Academy have announced a partnership with local youth soccer association Signal Mountain Soccer League (SMSL), focusing on coach and player education, fundraising for the association and more.
SMSL has long been a staple of the Chattanooga-area soccer community since its launch in 1986. The organization provides a community-based youth soccer program, allowing young players of all ability to thrive.
“Partnering with another successful youth association like Signal Mountain Soccer League continues to strengthen the infrastructure of youth soccer in our area,” said Chattanooga Red Wolves SC President and General Manager Sean McDaniel. “The association has produced quality players over the years, and we can’t wait to get started with them.”
As a part of the partnership, every player jersey in Signal’s rec programs will feature the official Chattanooga Red Wolves SC crest. Red Wolves Academy leadership will provide a recreation curriculum, weekly coaching education and the development of a pre-Academy program on Signal Mountain.
“Partnering with Signal Mountain Soccer League and its leadership is a very positive step for our organization and academy. We believe that by working with the coaches and players on Signal Mountain that we can continue to build on the wonderful culture and participation that has made Signal so unique,” added Red Wolves Vice President of Youth Matt Yelton.
Chattanooga Red Wolves SC is also delivering fundraising efforts as a piece of the agreement, allowing teams from Signal to directly benefit from Red Wolves SC ticket sales. In addition, SMSL will have one dedicated Chattanooga Red Wolves SC match night per season, on which all players wearing a SMSL jersey will be granted free admission.
According to Signal Mountain Soccer League President Patrick Daverson, the partnership provides a platform for the organization to make a larger impact within the community.
“I believe this is a great opportunity for our recreational soccer program here on the mountain,” said Daverson. “This Red Wolves partnership will provide support and curriculum for our rec coaches and athletes and is a great compliment to our strong Select program, Signal Mountain Storm. Our Soccer programs have experienced tremendous growth over the past few seasons, and we are very excited about the future of our club.”
