CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Apr. 20, 2020) Chattanooga Red Wolves SC merchandise initiative raises thousands of dollars in additional funds for the Metropolitan Downtown YMCA.
From April 3rd through 17th of 2020, the Chattanooga Red Wolves launched a merchandise campaign that would give 100% of its merchandise sales to the YMCA Food Program. The YMCA Food Program feeds students within the Hamilton County public school system that are financially dependent on school provided meals, which are currently not being distributed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Red Wolves merchandise campaign started off strong with 475 meals provided in only the first 5 days and the momentum continued. After seeing the overwhelming generosity of Chattanooga soccer fans and supporters, the club announced that it would match all sales dollar for dollar. Upon the completion of the campaign, the initiative generated 1,360 meals for children in need.
“We had no doubt that the Chattanooga community would step in and help with this initiative, but even these numbers are beyond belief. What a great testimony from our fans and family,” says GM & President Sean McDaniel. “We are thankful for the incredible spirit of giving that continues making the Scenic City the best place in the country.”
If you wish to help the YMCA of Chattanooga, call their front office at (423) 266-3766 and see what supplies or labor is needed at that time. The Chattanooga Red Wolves want to personally thank all of those who supported this initiative so that Hamilton County students in need could be guaranteed meals during an unprecedented time.
