CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Dec. 5th, 2020) This afternoon Chattanooga announced Jackson Dietrich as their third new player signing for the 2021 season.
Originally from Bremen Germany, Dietrich is a scrappy forward with an elite work rate and competitive mentality. Dietrich has a long resume of soccer experience finding success at every stop he made. During his pre-collegiate career Dietrich was named Nevada’s Gatorade player of the year and named to the Boys Best XI at the 2015 National Championships. Heading into college, Dietrich continued his soccer career at Wright State where he logged 10 goals and 22 assists overall and led the team to a Horizon League Title in his senior year. In the off seasons, Dietrich played for the perennial powerhouse Dayton Dutch Lions of USL League 2 where he earned placement on USL League Two’s Top Prospects list.
Jackson has a history with a handful of the Red Wolves organization having faced one of Obleda’s teams that included Ro Pineda, Ricky Ruiz and Marky Hernandez in multiple youth regional championships throughout the 2000’s. “Based on my past experiences with some of the Red Wolves players, I know that this is a team full of players that want to win no matter what,” says Dietrich. “I think that’s something that I display in my game and ultimately is a huge reason that drew me to the club.”
For Jackson, Chattanooga is the ideal place to sign his first professional contract for reasons both on and off the field. “I actually have some family in Chattanooga which for me is a huge thing,” says Dietrich. “Starting my professional career somewhere where I have family is important for me to get settled in and get used to the new environment.”

For Head Coach Jimmy Obleda, Dietrich is a very familiar player. “I have known Jackson since his youth playing days and I have always been impressed with his mentality,” says Obleda. “ Jackson has an edge to him that fits the profile of player that we are looking for. That, along with the type of soccer player that he is, makes for a very dangerous attacking player. He is going to be a handful this year for opposing teams”
Similar to Head Coach Obleda, Red Wolves GM and President Sean McDaniel has high praise for Dietrich. “Jackson had been on our radar for a while,” says McDaniel. “We invited him out to our combine last month to see him play in person and he put on a strong display. Once we saw him perform in that environment we knew we had to make him a Red Wolf and launch his professional career in the Scenic City. His work rate and his personality will make him a fan favorite from day one.”
Jackson Dietrich is the ninth player signed to the Red Wolves this 2021 season. Dietrich’s ability to play multiple positions and his high level soccer IQ makes him primed to become a key contributor for the Red Wolves in the 2021 season. With a team-first mentality, Dietrich will fit right into Obleda’s system.
