
CHATTANOOGA, Tn. (Aug. 27, 2021) – This morning the Chattanooga Red Wolves announced the signing of Alec Marshall. The defender will be available for selection for today’s match vs Toronto FC II.
Alec Marshall will be joining the team after a very successful campaign with the Park City Red Wolves of USL League Two having won the Mountain Division and reached the national quarterfinals this summer before losing in penalties in the Western Conference Semifinals. Marshall will be the third Park City Red Wolves player to continue on the path to pro and sign a professional contract with the first team in Chattanooga.
“To sign my first professional contract is a dream come true, one that I have had since being a little kid,” says Marshall. “This opportunity wouldn’t be possible without the amazing support of my family, friends, coaches and close teammates who have always encouraged and uplifted me on this path. Me being here is also a testament to the success of Red Wolves path to pro which helped provide opportunities to continue to develop and advance as a player.”
Chattanooga Red Wolves GM and President Sean McDaniel is happy to be utilizing the Park City program once again. “Having the ability to sign new talent from our Park City League 2 team is such a great resource for us,” says McDaniel. “Alec demonstrated his ability to play at the next level with his performances this summer. The path to pro is a reality for the Red Wolves and we are glad to have Alec with us.”
For Park City Red Wolves League Two Head Coach and Academy Director Scott Mackenzie Alec’s signing is a statement to the synergies within the Red Wolves organization. “I am excited for Alec to get this opportunity, he is a great kid, great player and most importantly has worked hard for this chance,” says Mackenzie. “This really highlights the path to pro we have in the Red Wolves organization and how quickly opportunities can arise if you are ready to take them. Alec is the 3rd player from the Utah development system to get a call up in just two League Two seasons.”
The first place Red Wolves will take on Toronto FC II on the road today August 27th, kickoff is set for 4pm eastern. The team is currently tied for the longest undefeated streak in the history of USL League One at 12 games.
