Detroit City FC is champion of the NPSL Great Lakes Conference and playoff bound thanks to a 3-1 win in Ann Arbor on Sunday afternoon. The win advances City’s unbeaten streak to 11 matches.
This is City’s first conference championship since 2013.
Shawn Lawson netted a hat-trick on the day, with assists from Kervin Kenton, Danny Deakin and Tendai Jirira.
The win moves DCFC to 9-1-3 on the season. City sits at the top of the table with one match remaining in Kalamazoo next Sunday.
Before that, Le Rouge hosts Liga MX’s FC Juarez on Wednesday at Keyworth Stadium for its 2019 International Series match presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions. Kickoff is at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available for $20 here.
