DETROIT — Today, Detroit City Football Club announced it will compete in Major Arena Soccer League Women’s (MASL W) for the second consecutive season. This will be the third season of arena soccer at the Detroit City Fieldhouse, following two successful seasons for Le Rouge.
Detroit City FC has once again been placed in the Great Lakes North division, with Indiana United FC, Youngstown Nighthawks, and Kitchener, Ontario side FC Berlin joining them in the division. Le Rouge is set to open the season on December 6th, as they will travel down to Ohio to take on the Youngstown Nighthawks. Detroit City will open the doors to the Detroit City Fieldhouse on January 3rd as they will host FC Berlin in the home opener. Full schedule details are available below.
Last season, Detroit City FC would see its incredible undefeated season come to an end in the 2025 MASL W National Championship. Le Rouge scored an incredible 107 goals over 12 games, averaging 9 goals a game, and only conceded 45 goals, averaging just under 4 goals a game. Detroit was led by striker Kayla Addison, who scored 24 goals over 11 matches for the club.
Dani Evans will return as the head coach for the club’s third season in arena soccer. She previously contributed to the Great Lakes Division champion Detroit City FC USL W League team as part of David Dwaihy’s first-team staff. Evans has extensive soccer experience, having played four years at Oakland University and coaching high school at Stoney Creek High School, Riverview High School, and Lincoln Park High School from 2012 to 2024. She also played semi-pro in Detroit from 2015-2019 and joined DCFC in 2017 as a Club Administrator, Girls Soccer Director, and staff coach for DCFC Downriver.
Joining her on the staff for the MASL W season is third-year assistant coach Becky Ansell. Ansell brings 16 years of coaching experience with Taylor Soccer Club and Detroit City FC Downriver. She also has 12 years of high school coaching experience at Allen Park High School, Kennedy High School, and Taylor High School.
The last staff member for the 2025-26 MASL W season is first-year assistant coach Makenna Mascaro. After playing collegiate soccer at Adrian College from 2019 to 2023, Mascaro has been the head coach of two DCFC Downriver youth teams since 2023, a role she still maintains. Additionally, she serves as a DCFC Youth Academy Head Coach and the JV Boys Soccer Head Coach at Riverview High School, after serving as an assistant coach for Girls Varsity Soccer at Trenton High School from 2023 to 2025.
Detroit City is proud to welcome back Detroit City Distillery as the Presenting Partner of DCFC MASL W games. In addition, Wayne State University will also be joining as a partner this year alongside Doghouse who will host three post-match parties throughout the home schedule, and Singh Innovations, who will be providing all production for the game day experience.
