FC Naples Announces Retirement of Forward Justin Weiss
Naples, Florida – July 14, 2025 – FC Naples announced today that Justin Weiss has decided to retire from professional soccer to pursue other career opportunities. The 22-year-old forward, who made his USL League One debut with the club on May 25, 2025, will step away from the game following a promising start to his professional career.
“While we’re disappointed to see Justin leave the game, we completely respect and support his decision,” said FC Naples Head Coach Matt Poland. “In his short time with us, Justin demonstrated the same professionalism, work ethic, and character that made him successful throughout his college career. He will always be part of the FC Naples family.”
Weiss made an immediate impact during his time with FC Naples, recording two goals and three shots on target across six league appearances. His breakout performance came on June 14 against the Chattanooga Red Wolves, where he scored his first two professional goals in a thrilling 2-2 draw, showcasing the technical ability and composure that had made him a standout player throughout his collegiate career.
“I want to thank FC Naples, the coaching staff, my teammates, and the incredible fans for welcoming me and giving me the opportunity to live out my dream of playing professional soccer,” said Weiss. “This was an incredibly difficult decision, but I’ve decided to pursue other passions and career opportunities. I’m grateful for every moment I’ve spent on the pitch and will always cherish the memories I’ve made here in Naples.”
FC Naples wishes Justin all the best in his future pursuits and thanks him for his dedication to FC Naples and the sport of soccer.
