FC Tucson wraps up its three-match homestand on Tuesday night when the club welcomes Lansing Ignite FC to Kino North Stadium for its first encounter of the 2019 season.
Both FC Tucson and Lansing Ignite come off 2-0 losses in their previous matches. FC Tucson fell to Tormenta FC at Kino North Stadium last Saturday night. Lansing Ignite lost to Toronto FC II on Friday night.
Leading the way for FC Tucson is forward Jamael Cox. Through the club’s four matches hehas served as a “swiss-army knife” for the Men in Black. Through the first four matches of the season, Cox has registered one goal, one assist and registered three chances created. IgniteFC’s Xavier Gómez is the most dangerous offensive threat for Lansing. His seven chances created leads the team.
Holding down the backline
Defender Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu has registered 10 interceptions and 10 clearances during the club's first three matches, leading the club in both categories.
Making his presence known
Nabbing a start in every match this season, midfielder Raheem Somersall currently leads the club in tackles (13), tackles won (8), duels (63) and duels won (40).
