Using the speed of forward Shak Adams, a stout defense and some ball possession at key times, FC Tucson defeated Greenville Triumph SC, 2-1, Saturday night for its second straight USL League One win.
Using his amazing acceleration down the right side, Adams bedeviled the Triumph defense throughout the game at Kino North Stadium and scored twice to up his team-leading total to six goals on the season.

Both teams squandered chances over the first 45 minutes, but just before the halftime whistle Adams finally struck. He picked up a pass from Charlie Dennis, made one of his patented runs down the right and then fired in a laser to make it 1-0 just as the clock struck 45:00.

Greenville, which has lost its last four matches and has not picked up a win since July 4, managed a consolation goal in the 92nd minute from Don Smart.
But FC Tucson (6-8-4, 22 points) hung on and added another three points before having to play its next two matches on the road. The club will face New England Revolution II on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., and the game will stream live on ESPN+.
