Forward Madison FC will host former wrestling star “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan during its 80’s Pro Wrestling Night game this Saturday at Breese Stevens Field, the club announced Wednesday. Duggan, who is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, gained fame in the ring for his uber-patriotic persona and weaponized wooden plank.
Duggan, who won the first-ever Royal Rumble in 1988, will be available to take photos with fans before the game on the west end of Breese Stevens Field near Fan Services. Duggan will also perform the ceremonial first kick prior to the match, which will kick off at 7 p.m. between FMFC and South Georgia Tormenta FC.
Fans who buy the Hacksaw Pack for Saturday’s game will receive a match ticket, an American flag and a 2×4 plank that can be autographed by Duggan. The club also plans to sell “MingoMania” T-shirts and pink feather boas in its stadium store during the match.
Forward Madison currently sits in fourth place in its inaugural USL League One season, occupying the league’s final playoff spot with five matches remaining. The Flamingos will play three more games at home this year, including an exhibition against the Milwaukee Torrent on Sept. 17.
