Central Valley Fuego FC Signs Promising Talent Javier Mariona on Academy Agreement

FRESNO, CA – Central Valley Fuego FC is thrilled to announce the signing of Javier Mariona to an Academy Agreement, marking the third academy signing of the 2024 season. Mariona joins the ranks of previously announced academy players Tag Chalmers and David Kabamba, further solidifying the team’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
The talented attacker, originally from Los Altos, California, honed his craft through youth development programs with Silicon Valley Soccer Academy and De Anza Force Academy, showcasing his dedication and passion for the sport from an early age.
Mariona’s journey in professional soccer began with an Academy Contract with the Oakland Roots, where he made an immediate impact. Notably, he made his debut for the Oakland Roots in a USL Championship match, impressing fans and teammates alike with his performance off the bench in a 3-1 victory over Tacoma Defiance on August 29, 2021.
The following day, Mariona showcased his scoring abilities by finding the back of the net for Project 51O in UPSL action, marking a significant milestone for the reserve side. Despite not making additional appearances for Oakland in 2021, Mariona’s talent and potential were recognized, earning him a spot in the traveling squad for the USL Championship playoffs and a call-up to the El Salvador U-20 National Team in the fall.
Now, Central Valley Fuego FC eagerly welcomes Mariona to the team, excited to harness his talent and support his development as a player. His addition underscores the club’s commitment to fostering young talent and providing them with opportunities to excel at the highest level of the sport.
Mariona’s signing represents a significant milestone for Central Valley Fuego FC as they continue to build a strong foundation for future success. Fans can look forward to witnessing Mariona’s journey with the team and celebrating his achievements on and off the field.
